Uchibo Line trains resumed between Chikura and Awa-Kamogawa on September 20 after a landslide suspension. Normal service is planned across the line today.
Suspension ends between Chikura and Awa-Kamogawa
Uchibo Line service resumed between Chikura and Awa-Kamogawa on Sunday, September 20, 2026 after a heavy-rain landslide. JR East's 6:51 a.m. status no longer lists the suspension or replacement buses and says normal service is planned today.
The previous report said recovery work was progressing and service was expected to resume with the first trains on September 20.
Direct rail travel toward Kamogawa restored
Passengers can again travel by train from Kisarazu, Kimitsu, Kazusa-Minato, Tateyama and Chikura toward Awa-Kamogawa. Replacement buses ended after September 19.
Possible suspension September 21 evening
Because of Typhoon 25, trains between Kimitsu and Awa-Kamogawa may be suspended from around the evening through the last train on September 21. Check JR East before travel.
