Mitsunaga Farm

"Mitsunaga Farm," a direct-sale shop tucked in the hills of Yamataqino, Kimitsu, mainly offers egg products made from its own "Eiko Tamago" eggs -- raw eggs, onsen tamago (hot-spring eggs), and castella cake -- alongside local farmers' vegetables and Chiba specialties such as nori seaweed, tea, mochi, and sweets. It is open 9:00-17:00 and closes once items sell out, so an early visit is the surest way to get the egg products. It is closed on Wednesdays. The 20-space parking lot can accommodate large buses, making it an easy stop for group and sightseeing-bus tours; since reservations are common, calling ahead is reassuring. As the area lies along the route toward Kururi, it also works well for picking up souvenirs while driving toward Yoro Valley or Kamogawa, or while visiting Kururi's sake breweries.
