Free Futtsu lecture explores Baka Monaka sweets and local storytelling on September 26
A free Futtsu-gaku public lecture on the city's signature sweets, food culture and local storytelling will be held at Futtsu Community Center on September 26 with no advance registration required.
From 1:45 p.m. at Futtsu Community Center
A public session of Futtsu-gaku, a program exploring Futtsu's history, culture, tourism and industries, will be held at Futtsu Community Center Hall on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The lecture runs from 1:45 to 3:30 p.m., with reception beginning at 1 p.m.
Baka Monaka and telling Futtsu's story
The program includes two talks. Hideaki Noguchi, a confectioner from Noguchi Seika, which has been part of Futtsu for more than 80 years, will speak about the local Baka Monaka sweet. Local food influencer Yuki-nee will discuss how to recognize and communicate the appeal of everyday Futtsu. Together, the talks offer an approachable look at the city's food culture and how local stories are shared.
Free and no registration required
