An eel fry release and river play event for elementary school children will be held in Kimitsu's Shichirigawa Valley on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Children will learn about eel ecology before releasing young eels and playing in the river.
First 20 children; apply by September 11
The event is for children in grades 1–6, accompanied by a guardian. Participation costs ¥500. Meet at Auto Camp Shichirigawa, 969-1 Kiwadahata, Kimitsu, at 09:50; activities run from 10:00 to noon.
Prepare for river play
Bring a hat, drink and towel, plus swimwear, spare clothes, spare shoes and river-play equipment if needed. Bad weather may move the event to Sunday, October 4. See the Kimitsu City notice for the application and full packing list.
