Wakura Shuzo Sadamotogura (和蔵酒造貞元蔵)

The direct sales shop Shusaikan (酒菜館) has a tasting corner where you can sample more than ten kinds of sake, shochu, and liqueurs before choosing. In some periods an amazake tasting flight (paid) is offered, so companions who do not drink alcohol and drivers can enjoy it too. It is small enough that you can combine a tour and tasting at the adjacent Sadamoto brewery building (貞元蔵) in about 30 minutes, and with a free parking lot that can also accommodate large buses, it serves as a stop on bus tours. Shochu is brewed in September and October and sake from November to March; visiting in these seasons lets you watch the actual work, and freshly pressed unpasteurized sake is sometimes on sale.

At this sake brewery in Shimoyue, Kimitsu, the Shusaikan tasting hall, converted from the brewery's old main house, offers tastings of sake as well as the sweet-potato and barley shochu and yuzu liqueur produced on site. Brewery tours are accepted year-round without reservation, and September through November is when visitors can see the actual brewing process underway. Parking is free, and local Chiba products such as peanuts and yuzu sake cake are also sold there.
