Emergency Safety Measures in Sodegaura and Kimitsu's Koito district

On September 21, Sodegaura and Kimitsu's Koito district announced Level 5 Emergency Safety Measures, escalating the morning evacuation instructions.

Sodegaura: landslides and river flooding

The city's 17:36 email covered all designated landslide warning zones and other locations at risk of landslides. The city said landslides had already occurred. Its 18:46 email added river-flood zones and other places at risk of river flooding throughout the city, saying a disaster may already have occurred. These orders concern risk areas, not every household indiscriminately.

At 18:59, the city urged people in danger to seek a safer place. If going outside is dangerous, do not force an outdoor evacuation: take the safest available action, such as moving upstairs or away from slopes. Stay away from swollen rivers and waterways.

Kimitsu: Koito flood zone

At 16:30, Kimitsu issued Level 5 for the Koito district flood zone, saying flooding near Nakajima on the Koito River had occurred or was imminent. Residents in the zone were urged to protect their lives immediately.

Other evacuation announcements

Kisarazu's 14:25 email announced Level 4 for landslide warning and flood-inundation zones citywide. Futtsu's 18:05 email announced Level 4 for the Minato River inundation zone. Kimitsu's 18:55 email announced Level 3 for the Kimitsu district flood zone; this does not cancel Koito's Level 5.
